Star Wars: The Last Jedi has crossed the $1 billion mark at the worldwide box office, while becoming the #1 movie of 2017 in the U.S. The Last Jedi grossed $220 million its opening weekend, the second-biggest domestic opening of all-time behind only The Force Awakens. The film continued ruling the box office over the Christmas holiday, grossing $99 million in the four-day window. Projections have The Last Jedi finishing in the top 5 all-time worldwide. Despite huge numbers for The Last Jedi, 2017 box office totals overall are down from 2016.
